Thirteen-year-old boy starts skateboarding business
Eighth grade Scottsdale resident, Sarkis Johnson, launches skateboarding equipment and apparel brand: LIQUID CHICKEN SKATEBOARDS

Scottsdale, AZ October 27, 2012 – Liquid Chicken Skateboards, a skateboarding company founded by Scottsdale, middle-school student Sarkis Johnson, offers skateboards, apparel, custom grip tape, “Gear Management” and coaching. Started in 2011 with an initial batch of logo T-shirts, Sarkis raised enough money selling shirts to family and friends to use as start-up capital. In October of 2012 Liquid Chicken Skateboards was officially launched and can be found on www.LiquidChickenSkateboards.com .

Liquid Chicken’s average targeted demographic is between ages six and nineteen and are involved in the skateboarding culture or wish to be. Liquid Chicken aims to equip established skaters as well as help new skaters understand the sport and the equipment. Therefore, offering “Gear Management Services” and private coaching sessions for children who want to start skating is an important element of the business. Sarkis’ parents, Ryan Johnson and local fashion designer, Angela Johnson, helped Sarkis start Liquid Chicken as his 12th birthday present. “Sarkis has been skating since he learned to walk,” Angela explains, “and has always been a very social kid who has a natural compassion for younger kids. When his grades started to slip in middle school, we thought helping him to create a skateboarding business would be a creative way to engage him in the real world of business and would help him understand the importance of what he was learning in school. Including an element of gear management and private lessons to younger kids who wanted to start skating was a natural addition because it is a need that isn’t currently being met and because he loves to help younger kids.”

Liquid Chicken Skateboards can currently be purchased on its website, at Scottsdale’s Sidewalk Surfer and occasionally at skate contests in the valley. Liquid Chicken Skateboard’s Facebook page also has updated event information.

LIQUID CHICKEN SKATEBOARDS, a skateboarding company owned by young teenage skateboarder, Sarkis Johnson was officially established in October of 2012 as a skateboard company that manufactures and sells skateboards, skateboarding gear and skateboarding apparel wholesale to stores and directly to the public.  Liquid Chicken Skateboards also offers “Gear Management” and private coaching by its founder Sarkis Johnson. The company operates out of Sarkis’ bedroom located in Scottsdale, Arizona and operates online at www.LiquidChickenSkateboards.com.
